Open days and visits
For those interested in applying to Cambridge for Veterinary Medicine, the most important thing is to visit one or more of the Cambridge Colleges. This is the best way to find out about life in Cambridge, what is involved in both the preclinical and clinical parts of the course and the admissions procedures. The dates of the college open days are mentioned in the Undergraduate Prospectus or may be obtained by writing to a particular college. They are also on the University's web page on Open Days.
VETCAM, 26th and 27th March 2012 - FULLY BOOKED

We will be running tours of the Department for potential students only. These will be at the following times: 9.30am, 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm. They will last for approximately an hour (due to numbers we are unable to accommodate family members on these tours).
Prospective students:
We will be having a talk for students at 12.30. Places are limited.
The talk will include a description of the 6 years of the course for the Vet MB degree, including the third year Part II leading to the BA degree.
There will be a description of how the extra mural studies component required by the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons works.
Information about the application process and work experience will be provided and there will be a discussion of student finances and general support.
The session will last about 60 minutes and will include time for questions.
Parents of prospective students:
We will be having Parents/Guardian talk at 10am and 3pm. Spaces are limited to 2 people per family.
This talk will provide an overview of the veterinary course at Cambridge including a slide show of the facilities in the Department of Veterinary Medicine.
(It is regretted that it is not logistically possible to provide an actual tour for parents but tours will be available to prospective students.)
The talk will also cover the basics of the application process and the requirements for the course.
There will be a discussion of the financial implications and what financial support is available through the University and Colleges.
