An investigation of poly systemic immune-mediated disease in the English Cocker Spaniel.

Supervisor: Dr. Penny Watson

Biography:

I obtained my BSc in Veterinary Medicine and Veterinarian Degree from University of Chile, in Santiago, Chile. Following my thesis, I worked for 3 years in research projects related to a multifunctional protein called Calreticulin at the Programme of Immunology, Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of Chile. In October 2014, I started my MPhil in Veterinary Science at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Dr. Penny Watson.

Research Interests

I am interested in investigating chronic pancreatitis in the English Cocker Spaniel, mainly because this breed unlike others suffers from a particular form of polysystemic immune-mediated disease, which appears very similar to IgG4+ related systemic sclerosing disease in humans.
