Information on the costs of studying at Cambridge can be found on the Graduate Admissions website. The tuition fees for the MPhil and PhD degrees in Life Sciences, including those in the Department of Veterinary Medicine, are currently charged at the Science rate and not the clinical rate. The VetMD is not a residential degree and fees are therefore calculated on a different basis (see link here)

Applicants can check their fee status here (opens in new window): that is, whether they will pay tuition fees at the 'UK/EU' rate or at the 'Overseas' rate.

Funding Opportunities

The Wellcome Trust and BBSRC PhD programmes already mentioned include generous scholarship programmes.

In addition, the University operates several other Scholarship programmes:

For all the competitions above, the University's Graduate Scholarship and Admission Form (GRADSAF) is the form of application and must be submitted online by the dates shown.

Other scholarships and bursaries including some specific to Life Sciences and the deadlines attached to them can be found using the Board of Graduate Studies searchable funding database. (Note that for MPhil in this Department you should use the Research Courses button of this tool).
