Goals for postgraduate training

Postgraduate training in the Department of Veterinary Medicine falls under the umbrella of the Graduate School of Life Sciences. Our degrees incorporate all the measure laid down in the University's Code of Practice for Research Students, but we also go over and above these requirements in certain areas.

The Department has the goals of:

  • ensuring the highest quality of graduate teaching for all its students
  • ensuring the highest possible rate of successful and on time completion;
  • and providing a broadly scientifically trained student in line with current research council thinking, through provision of coursework and a training structure for graduate research students.
