Research description
Anaesthesia research is largely clinically based with current studies involving clinical applications of new anaesthetic agents. In addition research is taking place looking at the relationship between haemodynamic variables under anaesthesia in the horse as well as other factors contributing to anaesthesia related morbidity in other companion animals. These studies continue Brearley's interest in the maintenance of homeostasis under anaesthesia and means of reducing anaesthesia related morbidity including post-operative pain.
