Cambridge Life

Cambridge is not only one of the world’s most renowned universities but also a beautiful and vibrant historic city. There is a wide range of things to see and do. You can enjoy punting on the River Cam, visit one of our many museums, galleries and theatres, or explore the colleges and their fine gardens. The city has plenty of restaurants, cafés and traditional English pubs that provide a cosmopolitan range of eating styles and refreshments. Nearby there are the mansions and parklands of Audley End House and Wimpole Hall Estate. The fenland waterways and the coast are approximately one hour’s drive away.
Getting around
Cambridge is a relatively small city and many of its interesting locations are within walking distance of each other. The city has a comprehensive local bus network. The Citi4 / Uni4 bus service runs every 10 minutes and connects the Department of Veterinary Medicine with the centre of Cambridge, and the Addenbrooke’s campus. Since this is Cambridge, you can of course use the preferred option of travel, the bicycle, and join the many other keen cyclists in the city.
