Applications are now open for the Professorship of Veterinary Science at the University of Cambridge, with the successful candidate also taking on the role of Head of the Department of Veterinary Medicine for five years in the first instance, with the option for renewal.
This is a significant opportunity to provide strategic vision, direction and transformational leadership for one of the world's leading centres of veterinary teaching, research and clinical excellence.
The new Head of Department will have the opportunity to shape the future direction of veterinary medicine at Cambridge, working across our teaching, research and clinical activities and building on the Department's strong reputation for academic excellence, research and clinical innovation.
We are seeking an outstanding researcher of international stature in veterinary science or a related field, ideally with research aligned with One Health, alongside significant experience of academic and research leadership. Candidates should have a strong record of leading successful research programmes, delivering high-quality teaching and fostering excellence across research and education, with experience of external accreditation processes also desirable.
The successful candidate will join a highly talented and committed community of academics, clinicians, researchers, educators, professional staff and students. Together, this community brings a breadth of expertise and experience to the Department and Hospital, creating an environment where there is both the opportunity and the ambition to shape the future of veterinary medicine.
