The University of Cambridge Department of Veterinary Medicine will be opening its doors to the public this Saturday 21 March from 10 am-4pm as part of the Cambridge Festival.
Our Vet School Open Day, part of the West Cambridge Open Day, is a fantastic opportunity for families and young people to explore the world of veterinary science through hands-on activities, real science, and the chance to meet vets and veterinary students.
Activities include:
Become a DNA Detective – Crack genetic codes and create your own gene bracelet while helping to save the Tasmanian Devil.
Bat Viruses Adventure – Find hidden bats and match them to the viruses they carry.
Tasmanian Devils Field Adventure – Join our research team and help investigate a mysterious disease affecting Tasmanian Devils.
Become a Microbiome Explorer – Solve a DNA puzzle and discover new microbes in this interactive science challenge.
Meet a Vet – Ask Us Anything – Visitors can chat to our vets about pets, animals, and veterinary careers.
Also, students interested in animal science or veterinary medicine can also meet our veterinary students and learn what it’s like to study at the Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital.
