The University of Cambridge Department of Veterinary Medicine has received full accreditation from the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE). This accreditation certifies that the Department fully complies with European quality standards in veterinary education and represents international recognition of the work and commitment of the entire Veterinary School community.
We are delighted to share a photo from the EAEVE Accreditation Ceremony held in May, where the Head of Department, Professor Mark Holmes, received formal recognition of this achievement on behalf of the Department.
This successful outcome follows a rigorous EAEVE visitation process, during which the Department was assessed against the highest European standards and awarded full accreditation.
EAEVE accreditation is a globally recognised benchmark of excellence in veterinary education, confirming the quality of teaching, clinical training, and academic provision. It also provides formal assurance of the high standard of teaching received by our vet students.
This achievement would not have been possible without the exceptional work of colleagues across the Veterinary School, whose dedication to preparing documentation, coordinating the visitation process, and ensuring every aspect was delivered to the highest standard was instrumental to this successful outcome. It reflects the commitment and expertise of the entire community and further reinforces Cambridge’s position as a leader in veterinary education and teaching excellence.
