Veterinary student Archie Peffers has had a second article published in In Practice magazine and the journal has kindly allowed us to share the piece for all to read!
In his latest article, titled "The unofficial initiation of vet students" Archie reflects on the unforgettable realities of EMS placements, from chaotic calvings to runaway lambs and disastrous milk mishaps, capturing the experience of vet student life with warmth, humour and honesty.
Archie says:
“One of the earliest lessons EMS teaches you is that farmers are a unique breed of human. They work extraordinary hours, often survive largely on tea and stubbornness…”
And:
“Because if EMS teaches us anything, it's that this wide, weird and wonderful world of animal care is exactly where we're meant to be.”
The article is a funny and heartfelt look at the experiences that shape future vets, and a fantastic achievement for Archie to have his second piece published in the magazine.
