Dentals & CT Study
Alongside our ongoing study into different brachycephalic breeds, we are also carrying out research into the internal anatomy of the different breeds so that we can understand the anatomical risk factors for affected versus unaffected dogs. We use CT scans to assess the structures of the head and airways.
Breeds included in this study: Affenpinscher, Boston Terrier, Boxer, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Chihuahua, Dogue de Bordeaux, Griffon Bruxellois, Japanese Chin, King Charles Spaniel, Maltese Terrier, Pekingese, Pomeranian & Shih Tzu.
Qualifying criteria: Aged 4 years or older, not had previous airway surgery, requires dental treatment
What is involved with taking part?
Dogs presented to the QVSH for dental treatment qualify for this study. A CT scan (series of X-ray images) is taken and used to assess whether the teeth are healthy and if any extractions are needed.
I'm interested in taking part, how do I go about booking an appointment?
