Recruiting students - studentships

The Graduate Office must be informed when you apply to a funding body for a studentship, and of the results of such applications when you receive them.  From time to time the Office will ask you, as a supervisor, to be part of quota applications coming from the Department or University to a funding agency, or of web based applications or other advertising of studentships, and to produce project outlines for these purposes.  The Office will then co-ordinate departmental advertising of studentships, although we certainly do not intend to prevent individual supervisors from advertising individual studentships as they see fit.

PIs - PhD projects please.

"PhD projects please:
We will be placing PhD Project advertisements on ‘FindAPhD.com’ during the next few weeks.  If you are considering taking a student, could you please supply a project title, 5 key words and a short description of the project (300 words or less).  Please include the skills that will be gained by the student.  Don’t worry if the project doesn’t yet have funding as we will be looking into their funding situation before inviting candidates to interview.

A prompt email response to Fiona Roby would be very much appreciated."
