Department of Veterinary Medicine

Cambridge Veterinary School

In order to be compliant with the current recycling regulations recycling bins/stations have been placed in corridors around the Department and Hospital.

The new waste streams are.

  • Food
  • Metals, Plastic, Glass.
  • Mixed Paper and Card
  • Non-Recyclable Waste

At every bin station  there are 4 types of recycling bin to cover each waste stream. All of the bins are labelled showing what is allowed to go into them.

Only these bins will be emptied by the cleaners. There are to be no individual office bins If you still have one it will not be emptied by the cleaners.

Please see this link explaining the new recycling process that the University has adopted.

If you have “one off“ large amounts of recycling you now take this directly to, and place it in our external bins

(external bins have also been simply and clearly marked with the 4 different waste streams).

If you find that you regularly need larger capacity internal bins at your local recycling station or you have any other bin related queries please contact Tom Butler in Facilities on tab65@cam.ac.uk
