Biography:

Katy Gaythorpe is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in mathematical modelling of infectious diseases at the University of Cambridge. She previously completed a PhD in Mathematical Epidemiology at the University of Bath Mathematical Sciences department, supervised by Dr. Ben Adams. She also completed an MMath at the University of Bath. The main focus of her research is the formulation and analysis of mathematical models to describe infectious disease dynamics with an aim for assessing control strategies. She uses deterministic modelling and parametrizes the models using data and methods such as Bayesian inference.
