Biography

I studied Veterinary Medicine at the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria from 2006 and graduated with DVM degree in 2012. My undergraduate project focused on the prevalence and antibiotic susceptibility of Eschericia coli O157:H7 in cattle. Upon graduation, I was enrolled into a National Youth Service scheme in my home country and worked as a veterinary surgeon at the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Akwaibom State from 2013 to 2014. Since then and for four years now, I have been in private veterinary practice. I have now been enrolled to pursue MPhil in Veterinary Science at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Dr Barbara Blacklaws and would be investigating the determinants of murine norovirus O7 chronic infection.
